Necessary for Employment

  • All employees hired with The Arc will be required to provide Human Resources with proof of their identity and eligibility for employment in the United States.
  • FBI fingerprint checks and Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry searches are required for employees hired in direct care positions. A State of Virginia Criminal History check is required for all other employees.
  • Pre-placement drug testing is required for all positions.
  • Appointments to positions at The Arc are on a six month introductory (probationary) period.

It is the policy of The Arc of the Virginia Peninsula to identify potential or actual barriers to access to our services and community

We assist people with mental retardation and other disabilities in choosing goals and leading satisfying lives.

VISION STATEMENT
The Arc of the Virginia Peninsula envisions a world where people with mental retardation and other disabilities enjoy dignified, productive lives of their choosing as fully accepted members of society.
